Weather in Maldives in November

While November might not be the best time to hit the beach every single day, that doesn’t mean this isn’t a great month to still visit Paradise (with the added bonus of lower prices)!

The best time to visit Maldives is generally the non-monsoon months of December and April, but whenever you descend on the islands looking to rest, relax, explore and enjoy, you are introduced to ecotourism initiatives (snorkeling being one of them) during all year.

During November, average daytime temperature floats around the 27 degree Celsius mark, with midday high peaks reaching up to 29 degrees and rainy night approximating the cold conditions of January at 24 degrees Celsius.

Sea temperature remains at 29 degrees, creating welcoming conditions for water sports as long as the skies are clear and rain isn't expected.

Even though November is still a rainy month, it marks the end of the wet season and the advent of the dry monsoon season in Maldives. This is a fairly predictable and surprise-free month that is ideal for people who wish to experience the transition of seasons in Maldives and don't mind the occasional tropical rainstorm. VICTORY DAY - 3rd November

Every year in November the 3rd, the nation of Maldives celebrates the Maldives’ Victory Day. These celebrations are focused on the day that a terrorist group from Sri Lanka attacked the Maldives government in 1988. The attempted coup failed and since then the nation celebrates its freedom with public parades, large feasts and parties. This is a very festive and positive event that celebrates the freedom and prosperity of Maldives.

NATIONAL DAY - 9th November

On this day in 1573, Muhammad Thakurufaanu established victory over Portuguese rule. Celebrations consist of parades and marches in order to honour Muhammad. Most of the main processions take place in the capital of Male'. Expect to see the Maldives flag flying high and plenty of traditional food on sale. To celebrate this remarkable day, the Atoll Scuba Club in Male dived to the depths of the Arabian Sea with the Maldives flag to mark this momentous day.

MILAD UN NABI - 20th November to 21st November

As a Muslim country, this day commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad. Special prayers, recitals, and acts of charity are all a part of this most important religious based holiday.
